Announcing The U22 Assistant Coaches for 2025/26

The Ottawa Lady Sens High Performance Program and the Kanata Girls Hockey Association are proud to announce the U22 Assistant Coaches for the 2025/26 season. Both coaches bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the team, having demonstrated their dedication to player development and high-performance hockey. With strong coaching backgrounds and a commitment to fostering a competitive and supportive environment, they will play a key role in guiding the team throughout the season. Importantly, both assistant coaches are non-parent coaches, ensuring an unbiased and professional approach that prioritizes team success and individual growth.

Katrina Bert
Katrina is a highly motivated High Performance 1 Certified coach who has spent the past nine seasons coaching at the U15AA and U22AA levels for the Nepean Wildcats. During this time, she helped to build a high-performance program that has focused on developing young players with aspirations of going on to pursue playing at the NCAA, USports, and professional levels. She is an alumni of Lakehead University and a founding member of the Lakehead Thunderwolves Women’s Hockey Team.

Katrina is privileged to have been selected to coach in the OWHA High Performance Program where she regularly leads on-ice and off-ice sessions for the U16 and U18 High Performance Camps. Katrina was also the 2023 Team Ontario Blue Video Coach and a 2022 U16 Ontario Summer Games Head Coach.

Katrina's coaching experience has allowed her to fully understand the commitment, dedication and compassion that is needed to run a high-performance program that successfully enriches the experience for young female athletes. She has focused her technical abilities on both offensive and defensive skills and tactics, with a targeted approach to improve even the most skilled players to achieve the next level of their career. She consistently demonstrates a development-oriented coaching style, understanding that each player has different learning styles, and adapts her communication so every player remains engaged and committed throughout a season.

As an assistant coach next season, she will develop OLS players so they will achieve personal growth and elevate their level of play. Katrina believes in an environment that encourages development not only as hockey players, but also as individuals and members of the community.  She is committed to fostering a culture where players feel safe and supported on and off the ice.
